The work
RandomDiceRoll
Every die and every dice game, with rooms for playing them together from anywhere.
Why it exists
This team is made of gamers, and most of the games involve dice. Some of us came up through Dungeons and Dragons, some through the classic yacht dice game at the kitchen table, and all of us grew up with the sound of five dice hitting wood.
Then family moved across the country, as families tend to do, and the games that only worked with everyone in one room stopped happening. The dice rollers already on the web were no answer: a form, a number, none of the fun. Rolling dice is supposed to feel like something.
So we built the table we were missing. Every polyhedral die a campaign can call for, the games we actually grew up playing, and rooms where the people who used to share a kitchen table can share one again.
What we decided
Rooms, because the point is playing together
Every game has a Play with friends option: open a room, share the link, and the family game night works across three time zones. In a room the dice roll on the server, so everyone is seeing the same roll and nobody can fudge one.
The real games, with their real rules
Farkle, Pig, Liar’s Dice, Ship Captain and Crew, Shut the Box, Bunco, and a five-dice scoring game in the classic Yacht tradition. Full scoring built in, not a bare roller with the rules left as homework.
No signup to roll a die
A d20 for a saving throw or a quick round of Pig should be one click. Accounts, downloads and forms are exactly the friction that makes people reach for physical dice they do not have with them.
The kitchen table, restored over any distance.
